Classes
Albert’s scene study classes take place in 3-week rounds. All material comes from plays. If you can handle Suzan-Lori Parks or Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, you ought to do well on Succession or The Bear .
Albert’s teaching is rooted in Stanislavsky, but employs a blend of techniques. Influences include Hagen, Strasberg, Michael Chekhov, Grotowski, Artaud, Laban, Mike Nichols, Meisner, Peggy Fury, and Annie Bogart. He prefers the practical over the precious.
His approach emphasizes risk, freedom, and service to the text. Craft and quality take precedence, while career concerns are left at the door. All the same, Albert’s students book. It’s a fickle business and there are no guarantees, but knowing what you’re doing tends to come in handy.
“I cannot say enough good things about Albert’s Class”
– Megan Carmitchel, Craig Noel Awards’ 2022 Actor of the Year
